Dhallywood: Ilias Kanchan suffering from brain tumour, undergoing treatment in London

Entertainment Report :

Dhallywood actor and founder of the Safe Roads Movement (NISCHA) Ilias Kanchan has been diagnosed with a brain tumour.

He has been undergoing treatment in London for five months. Ilias Kanchan’s son Mirajul Islam Moin Joy announced this information in a video message at a press conference organised on the occasion of National Road Safety Day-2025 on October 1.

Ilias Kanchan had been suffering from various physical complications since the beginning of this year.

When his condition deteriorated, his family members took him to the doctor. After various tests, it was found that Ilias Kanchan had a tumour in his head.

Ilias Kanchan went to London on April 26 for advanced treatment. He is
undergoing treatment there.

Mirajul Islam Moin Joy said in a video message from Canada, “My father would sometimes get stuck while speaking. Sometimes he had trouble remembering things from the past.

After an MRI, it was found that he was having such problems due to a tumor. I am praying for the countrymen for my father’s recovery.”

He further said, “On April 13, I took my father to the National Institute of Neurosciences in Agargaon.

The doctors there formed a board. They said that the tumor was located in a sensitive area at the junction of important nerves in the brain. We, as a family, decided to send him to London, where my sister lives.

He left Dhaka for London on April 26.”
Miraj said that after arriving in London, Ilias Kanchan’s treatment started at the Harley Street Clinic.

After two long months of various tests, he underwent a head surgery under the leadership of Professor Demetrius at the Willington Hospital in London on August 5.

Doctors said that the entire tumor could not be removed. There is a risk of paralysis including loss of life.

The actor may lose his ability to move and speak. Therefore, the doctors removed some parts of the tumor with the permission of the family members.

It was informed that the rest of the treatment will be done through radiation and chemotherapy. Mirajul said about Ilias Kanchan’s physical condition, “My father’s chemotherapy will continue now.

He will have to undergo radiation and chemotherapy for 30 days.” He added that the chemotherapy will continue for a total of six weeks, five days a week.

After that, he will have to remain under the observation of doctors for another four weeks. Later, if the doctors give permission considering his physical condition, he will return home.
