Dhallywood: What Samonty Shoumi says about Shakib, Hania

Small screen actress and model Samonty Shoumi has made explosive comments about the appreciation received by the country’s artistes.

In a recent interview, she directly raised the question of whether the country’s stars are getting the respect they deserve.

According to her, no other star other than Shakib Khan will be able to create sky-high popularity or a following like Pakistani actress Hania Aamir if she goes abroad.

Actress Samonty Shoumi expressed disappointment by comparing the special attention and hospitality that foreign stars receive outside the country with the appreciation that local stars receive. She said, “Bangladeshi artistes are not really appreciated in that way.”

Citing the example of Pakistani actress Hania Aamir, Shoumi said, “When we go to a foreign country, we give priority to Hania Aamir or the level of hospitality we provide. If there was a ticket system, I would have thought that the crowd would be very crowded.”

She said that the country’s top star Shakib Khan’s current skyrocketing popularity.

In her words, “We have a Shakib Khan. When he goes out of the country, people flock to him now. But before, these things didn’t exist.”

However, leaving Shakib Khan aside, Samonty Shoumi questioned the popularity of other local stars.

According to the actress, “If anyone other than Shakib Khan goes, will there ever be such an overwhelming crowd? There won’t be a crowd like Hania Aamir.”
