Call for religious teachers in pry schools
Staff Reporter :
Leaders of Islamic parties and clerics from the UlamaMashayekhAimmaParishad have called for the appointment of religious teachers in all primary schools across the country.
The demand was raised at a national seminar held Tuesday at the Diploma Engineers Institution auditorium in Kakrail, Dhaka, under the theme “Mandatory Recruitment of Religious Teachers in All Primary Schools of the Country.”
Addressing the event, IslamiAndolan Bangladesh Ameer Mufti Syed Muhammad Rezaul Karim said that primary schools are losing students due to declining educational standards, leading children to suffer from “mental and moral deficiencies.”
“Instead of addressing this, the government is appointing music teachers,” he said.
“Parents want their children to learn Islam from an early age. To build a skilled and morally sound generation, religious teachers must be appointed in all primary schools immediately; otherwise, people will be forced to take to the streets.”
Other speakers included Ahmad Abdul Quader of KhelafatMajlis, Maulana Jalal Uddin of Bangladesh KhelafatMajlis, Maulana Hasan Jamil of RabetatulWaizin, Khalilur Rahman Madani of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, MaulanaAtaullah Amin, and Mufti Zubair Ahmad.
The seminar was presided over by AllamaNurul Huda Faizil, president of the National UlamaMashayekhAimmaParishad.
At the outset, research papers were presented by Mufti Abdullah Masum and Maulana Yusuf Sultan.
