Shafiq takes solo lead after 7th round in Rating Chess

Shafiq Ahmed of Titas now took solo lead in the points table with 6 points after the 7th round games of the 10th Amrito Lal Dey International Rating Chess Tournament now being held in Abdul Khaleq Pathagar in Barisal.
Four players are sharing the second position closely with 5.5 points respectively. They are FM Sk. Nasir Ahmed and FM Aminul Islam of Bangladesh Navy, FM Mehdi Hasan Parag of Leonien Chess Club and FM Debaraj Chatterjee of Titas Club.
Four players are sharing the third position with 5 points.
They are Mohammed Enayet Hossain of Fire Service & Civil Defense Sports Club, WIM Rani Hamid, Mohammad Sagar of Bangladesh Navy and Suvradeepta Das of India.
In the day’s 7th round games held Thursday, Shafiq beat Parag, Nasir beat Chanchal Kumer Ghosh, Debaraj beat Abdul Momin, Amin beat Dewan Shahidul Amin, Suvradeepta beat Sawkat Hossain Pollab, Rani Hamid beat Md. Saiful Islam Chowdhury, Enayet beat Akil Hossain and Sagar beat M Aminul Islam.
