RAB arrests 3 smugglers in Bhairab

A team of Rapid Action Battalion( RAB) arrests three smuggler while conducting anti- snuggling drive in Kishoreganj ‘s Bhairab port town on Monday night.

RAB -14 in Bhairab camp source said ,during the operation, three alleged smugglers along with 25 bags of smuggled chocolates, seized a microbus at Syed Nazrul Islam bridge on Dhaka -Sylhet highway in Bhairab town.

The arrested are microbus driver Khalil Mia (40), son of Mona Miah in Alamnagar village of Sylhet ‘s Gowainghat upazila, Ali Hossain Zakir (46), son of Helal Uddin of Islampur village of the same area, and Dulal Mia (35), son of Fazlur Rahman.

During this, 25 bags of Indian Kit Kat, Cadbury and various brands of chocolate were seized. RAB in Bhairab Company Commander, also Additional SP Md. Muhith Kabir Serniabat said that a search was conducted in a microbus based on a secret tip-off.

A large quantity of Indian chocolates were seized during the search.The detained persons handed over the Bhairab model police station. A case was filed in this connection.
