With the slogan “Together we build a corruption-free Bangladesh”, the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) organized a public hearing in Tangail on Monday. The event took place at the District Shilpakala Academy auditorium, arranged by the district office of the ACC.
Citizens who have faced harassment, irregularities, and corruption in various government, semi-government, autonomous institutions, financial organizations, and educational institutions in Tangail were able to directly present their complaints during the hearing. Some complaints were resolved on the spot, while others were accepted for further investigation and action.
The public hearing was presided over and moderated by Tangail Deputy Commissioner Sharifa Haque. Chief Guest at the event was ACC Commissioner (Investigation) Miah Muhammad Ali Akbar Aziz. Also present were ACC Director General (Prevention) Md. Akhtar Hossain, Director General (Investigation-1) Muhammad Rezaul Kabir, and Superintendent of Police of Tangail Md. Mizanur Rahman.
In his opening remarks, Commissioner Aziz said, “The Anti-Corruption Commission is relentlessly working against corruption and irregularities. This public hearing provides a platform for victims to speak directly to us. No one involved in corruption will be spared.”
Heads of various government offices, freedom fighters, journalists, and business community leaders also attended the event.
