Trishna Rani hits hat-trick: BD women crush Timor-Leste in AFC U-20 Qualifiers

Bangladesh Under-20 Women’s Football team crushed Timor-Leste Under-20 Women’s Football team by eight goals to nil in their second Group-H match of the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Under-20 Women’s Asian Cup Qualifiers at New Laos National Stadium in Laos on Friday. Trishna Rani of Bangladesh Under-20 Women’s Football team hit a hat-trick.
Earlier, Bangladesh women defeated Laos women by three goals to one in their first Group-H match of the AFC Under-20 Women’s Asian Cup Qualifiers at the same venue on August 6.
Shikha put her team ahead by a header capitalizing a corner kick of her teammate Sapna Rani in the 20th minute of the play.
Shanti Mardi made it 2-0 by a direct corner kick in the 32nd minute of the play. The goal is called ‘Olympic Goal’. Nobirun Khatun increased the tally into 3-0 using a corner kick from her teammate Shanti Mardi in the 39th minute of the play.
Trishna Rani made it 4-0 by a spectacular placing shot just before the lemon-break.
After the intervals, Trishna Rani scored her second goal in the 57th minute of the match.
Sagorika increased the tally into 6-0 in the 73rd minute of the game.
Trishna Rani fulfilled her hat-trick in the 83rd minute of the match by capitalizing a left-side pass from her teammate Sagorika.
Munki Akter put the last nail into the Timor-Leste’s coffin by scoring a goal in the injury time of the second half.
Bangladesh will face stronger South Korea in their last Group-H match on August 10 at the same venue. If Bangladesh lose to South Africa, Bangladesh will have a chance to play in the final round by virtue of better goal difference as a runners-up of the group.
