DU VC returns home from Japan

Dhaka University (DU) Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr Niaz Ahmed Khan recently returned home following a six-day official visit to Japan at the invitation of Ehime University, said a press release.
During the visit, he held a series of high-level meetings with Ehime University President Professor Dr Nishina Hiroshige and other senior officials to strengthen ongoing academic and research collaboration between the two institutions, reports BSS.
As part of the engagements, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed to further enhance bilateral cooperation.
In addition, the VC signed a Collaborative Research Agreement (CRA) to implement a joint project titled “Implementing Water Quality Monitoring and Purification Technologies to Control Health Risks for Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR) in the Dhaka Metropolitan Area.”
The project will be funded by the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) and the Japan Science and Technology Agency (JST), with Dhaka University serving as the lead implementing institution.
