The council, organized under the chairmanship of Punat Union BNP convener Anisur Rahman Sarkar, was chaired by Upazila BNP convener Ibrahim Hossain Mandal. District BNP joint convener Abdul Wahab was present as a special guest.

The program was hosted by Shahinur Islam, joint convener of Punat Union BNP.
At the end of the council, the ward leaders present unanimously announced the new committee of Punat Union BNP for the next three years. Anisur Rahman Sarkar was elected as the committee president, Shahinur Islam as the general secretary, and Abdul Hannan as the organizing secretary.
District BNP convener Golzar Hossain said, “We are organizing the party well under the instructions of BNP acting chairman Tarique Rahman. Kalai Upazila is a fertile ground for BNP. For the past 17 years, our leaders and activists have been subjected to various tortures. The fascist government did not even allow us to form a union committee. After a long time, this council has brought us a message of hope and strength.”
