Two more RMG factories get LEED certificates

Business Report :

Bangladesh has further strengthened its global leadership in sustainable garment manufacturing, as two more ready-made garment (RMG) factories have earned the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certification from the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC).

The newly certified factories are Evitex Apparels Limited, located in Gazipur, and Aswad Composite Mills, situated in Ashulia, Savar. This latest achievement raises the total number of LEED-certified RMG factories in Bangladesh to 250, a significant milestone in the country’s ongoing efforts to position itself as a global leader in green apparel manufacturing. Of these, 105 factories have received Platinum certification, the highest level of recognition under the LEED rating system, while 131 have achieved Gold status.

Today, Bangladesh proudly hosts 9 of the world’s top 10 highest-rated LEED-certified factories and 68 among the top 100 globally, reflecting the industry’s firm commitment to sustainable growth and environmental stewardship.
