N’ganj Hindu Mahajot holds human chain

A human chain and protest rally were held in Narayanganj demanding reserved seats for minorities in the National Parliament and the implementation of a separate electoral system. The demonstration also protested against several recent incidents, including the attack on a Durga temple in Khilkhet, Dhaka; the alleged false accusation and arrest of a father and son in Lalmonirhat; and the rape of a Hindu housewife in Muradnagar, Cumilla.
The protest was organized on Friday morning (July 4) by the Bangladesh National Hindu Grand Alliance (Hindu Mahajot) in front of the Narayanganj Press Club.
The human chain was presided over by Partha Sarathi Roy, Vice President of the Bangladesh National Hindu Student Grand Alliance, Narayanganj District.
Among those present were Joint Publicity Secretary Khokon Roy, District Publicity Secretary Shanto Chakraborty, Ram Modak, Rupganj Upazila President of Hindu Student Grand Alliance Binoy Adhikari, Parash Hazra, Shyamal Debnath, Prankrishna Bhowmik, Ratan Das, Sujan Chandra Das, Barin Sarkar, Subhash Dey, and members Manoranjan Das, Shambhunath Dey, Gouranga Chandra Saha, among others.
During the event, speakers said, “We fought together to win this country’s independence no one asked during the war who was Muslim, Hindu, Christian, or Buddhist. So why are we now seen as lesser citizens? Why must we be subjected to persecution? We were born in this country, we are citizens of this land where else should we go?”
Following the human chain, a protest rally was brought out, which concluded at the Chashara Shaheed Minar.
