Mohammad Hatem becomes BKMEA President

The election for the office bearers of the Bangladesh Knitwear Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BKMEA), the leading organization of 100% export-oriented knitwear manufacturers, has been completed for the 2025-27 term. Mohammad Hatem has been elected as the President. Fazlee Shamim Ehsan has been elected as the Executive President. Additionally, Amal Poddar has been elected as Senior Vice-President, while Morshed Sarwar has secured the position of Vice-President (Finance), along with five other Vice-Presidents.
The election took place on Thursday at the BKMEA headquarters in Narayanganj. As per the pre-determined schedule set by the election board, candidates collected and submitted their nomination forms. A total of nine nomination forms were submitted for nine office bearer positions-President, Executive President, Senior Vice-President, Vice-President (Finance), and five Vice-President positions. The election board reviewed the nominations and published the final list.
Since the number of nominations matched the available positions, a formal election was unnecessary. As a result, all candidates were elected unopposed. The five elected Vice-Presidents are Md. Samsuzzaman, Gawhar Siraj Jamil (Chattogram), Ashiqur Rahman, Fakir Kamruzzaman Nahid, and Mohammad Rashed.
