Step-father gets life term

A Chittagong court on Monday sentenced a step-father to life term imprisonment for killing a ten years old child at Patenga thana area in the city in 2003.
The Judge of 4th additional Metropolitan Session court Sayeda Hosney Ara handed down the verdict convicting Shah Asgor for strangulating the child Mohammad Alamgir, 10, to death over family feud.
The court also fined the convict Tk 10 thousand and in default to suffer two more months imprisonment.
Victim’s mother filed a case with Patenga thana against the convict on August 3, 2003.
