Swami Vivekananda’s 163rd birth anniv celebrated

The 163rd birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda was commemorated with great reverence and enthusiasm at the Ramakrishna Math in the capital on January 21, 2025.

The day-long program featured traditional rituals, spiritual activities and an insightful discussion session.

According to a press release, the celebrations began with Mangalarati, followed by a special puja, Vedic chanting, homa, pushpanjali, and the distribution of prasad. Devotees gathered to participate in these sacred ceremonies, immersing themselves in the spiritual essence of the occasion.

A discussion meeting titled “Swami Vivekananda and the Crisis of the Age” was a key highlight of the event. Presided over by Swami Purnatmananda, the session featured enlightening talks by distinguished speakers, Prof. Dr. Chandranath Podder and Prof. Dr. Sittul Muna Hassan, who delved into Swami Vivekananda’s teachings and their relevance in addressing contemporary challenges.
