Jamaat Ameer vows to continue fight for justice

Staff Reporter :

Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman has pledged to build a nation free from corruption and misrule by implementing a governance system rooted in the principles of the Holy Quran.

In a workers’ conference organised by the Rajshahi Metropolitan and District Jamaat-e-Islami at the historic Madrasa Ground in Rajshahi on Saturday, Dr. Shafiqur Rahman addressing the audience as the chief guest affirmed that “The struggle for justice in the land of Bangla will persist until the country is rid of terrorism, extortion, and illegal land grabbing.”

He urged those involved in extortion, land grabbing, and the misuse of legal processes to refrain from such actions. “I humbly request you to stop engaging in extortion, land grabbing, and case trading. Such deeds dishonor humanity and cause suffering to the souls of our martyrs,” he said.

Addressing those involved in bribery in offices and courts, Dr. Rahman earnestly pleaded, “Friends, stop engaging in these acts for the sake of the almighty Allah. Abandon these deeds. If you ignore our sincere request, you should know that our fight has not ended.”

Referring to the continuing struggle, he said, “Our children are still chanting slogans- the battle isn’t over.'” He reiterated that this fight will continue, God willing, until justice is established on this land.

Dr. Rahman stressed that true justice can only be achieved through the guidance of the holy Quran. “The Quran’s teachings are not limited to Muslims but are a guarantee of dignity for people of all religions, groups, and communities. By implementing Quranic governance, we aim to create a humane Bangladesh,” he said.

He emphasised the urgency of their mission, saying, “We cannot afford to rest, even for a moment. Life is short, and the task ahead is monumental.” He urged all attendees to dedicate themselves to establishing Quranic rule in the country.

Criticizing the ruling Awami League, Dr. Rahman said, “The Awami League considered itself sovereign, as though it held ultimate power.

But where is that power now? Why did you flee the country? If your power was so enduring, you could have stood firm till the Day of Judgment. Your defeat and escape prove that ultimate power belongs to Allah alone. No party, group, nation, or people can claim absolute sovereignty.”

Dr. Rahman highlighted the sacrifices made by Jamaat-e-Islami, stating, “The past government, especially over the last 15 and a half years, has targeted Islamic scholars and believers, subjecting them to persecution.

Two Ameers, three Naib-e-Ameers, one Secretary General, two Assistant Secretary Generals, and one Executive Council Member of Jamaat have been taken from us. Hundreds of our colleagues have been killed, many have been forcibly disappeared, injured, or disabled. Their jobs have been taken away, and they have been evicted from their homes and lands.”

The conference was presided over by Rajshahi District Ameer Dr. Keramat Ali.
