Easy win for Rajshahi in BPL

Durbar Rajshahi posted an easy 65-run win over Sylhet Strikers in their match of the Dutch-Bangla Bank Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) Cricket at Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chattogram on Friday.

Electing to bat first, Rajshahi piled up a massive 184 for the loss of seven wickets in the allotted 20 overs and then all out Sylhet for 119 off 17.3 overs.

Durbar Rajshahi had a modest start with two openers Mohammad Haris and Jishan Alam put on together 29 runs before Haris (19) was caught by Reece Topley off Nahidul Islam.

Jishan Alam (20) was caught by Rony Talukdar off Nahidul Islam when Rajshahi’s score was 53 for the loss of two wickets.

Anamul Haque and Ryan Burl mended the innings adding together 35 runs for the third wicket partnership before Anamul Haque was caught behind by George Munsey off Ruyel Miah when Rajshahi’s total was 88 for the loss of three wickets.

Anamul Haque hit a fine 32. His 22-ball innings had two sixes and three fours.

Ryan Burl and Yasir Ali built a remarkable partnership scoring together 38 runs in the fourth wicket stand before Yasir Ali (19) was caught by Ariful Haque off Nahiduzzaman when Rajshahi’s score was 126 for the loss of four wickets.

After dismissal of Yasir Ali, Ryan Burl could not stay at the crease for a long period as he was caught by Ariful Haque off Nahiduzzaman when Rajshahi’s total was 153 for the loss of five wickets.

Ryan Burl hit a quick-fire 41. His 27-ball innings was belted with four sixes and one four.
After Burl’s departure, Rajshahi failed to make any notable partnership.

Ruyel Miah captured three wickets in the space of 32 runs, while Nahidul Islam and Nahiduzzaman claimed two wickets each instead of 20 and 37 runs respectively.

Sylhet Strikers faced an early debacle as they lost their two wickets for 13 runs.

One-down Zakir Hasan and second-down George Munsey put on together 58 runs before Zakir Hasan was caught by Anamul Haque off Mark Deyal when Sylhet’s total was 71 for the loss of three wickets.

Zakir Hasan hit a superb 39. His 28-ball innings was decorated with four fours and two sixes.
Munsey (20) was caught & bowled by Aftab Alam when Sylhet’s score was 75 for the loss of four wickets.

Jaker Ali fought back hitting a windy 31 from 20 deliveries with three big sixes.

Sunzamul Islam grabbed three wickets at the cost of 25 runs. He was adjudged the Man of the Match.

Taskin Ahmed, Mrittunjoy Chowdhury and Aftab Alam captured two wickets each for 14, 16 and 24 runs respectively.
