Mannan, Moshiur elected to lead Mirzaganj Credit Union Ltd

Md A Mannan Lotus and Gazi Moshiur Rahman have been elected as the new president and secretary, respectively, of the Teachers-Employees Co-Operative Credit Union Limited in Mirzaganj.

The management committee election of the Mirzaganj Upazila Teachers and Employees Co-Operative Credit Union Limited was successfully held, generating significant enthusiasm among members.

On Saturday, voting took place from 8am to 4pm at the Dargah Sharif Secondary School auditorium in Mirzaganj Union. The results were announced following the polls, conducted under the supervision of the interim management committee.

The election saw 495 registered voters, with 475 casting their ballots. Nine candidates from two panels competed for five out of six positions, while one candidate was elected unopposed.

According to the Interim Committee President Md Kamruzzaman, the following candidates emerged victorious:

• President: Md A Mannan Lotus (Pineapple symbol) – 259 votes
• Vice President: Md Rajibul Hasan (uncontested)
• General Secretary: Gazi Moshiur Rahman (Ink and Pen symbol) – 264 votes
• Treasurer: Md Kawsar Hossain (Pen symbol) – 237 votes
• Members: Md Rafiqul Islam (Football symbol) – 328 votes, and Md Abul Alam (Book symbol) – 301 votes

The newly elected leaders expressed their commitment to ensuring the holistic development of the credit union and pledged to work tirelessly for the betterment of all members.

The accuracy of the election results was confirmed by the election committee president and other members of the Mirzaganj Upazila Teachers and Employees Co-operative Credit Union Limited.
