Tigers win T20I series against WI

The Tigers won the Twenty20 International (T20I) series 2-0 against West Indies (WI) after defeating the hosts by 27 runs in the second T20I at Arnos Vale Ground in Kingstown of West Indies on Wednesday. After six years, Bangladesh clinched a T20I series against West Indies.
Earlier, Bangladesh eased past West Indies by 7 runs in the first T20I at the same venue on December 16.
The third and last T20I will be held at the same venue on December 20.
Sent into bat first, Bangladesh piled up a fighting 129 for the loss of seven wickets in the stipulated 20 overs and then shot out West Indies for 102 off 18.3 overs.
Bangladesh lost their seven wickets for 88 runs.
Then, Shamim Hossain and Tanzim Hasan built their team’s most notable partnership scoring together 41 runs for the unbroken eighth wicket partnership before Bangladesh’s innings came to an end.
Shamim remained unbeaten with 35 runs. His 17-ball stormy innings was ornamented with two sixes and two fours. Shamim was adjudged the Man of the Match for his hurricane innings.
Earlier, Mehidy Hasan Miraz made 26 from 25 deliveries including three fours and a sixer.
Jaker Ali scored 21 from 20 balls featuring one four and one six.
Gudakesh Motie captured two wickets instead of 25 runs, while Akeal Hosein, Roston Chase, Alzarri Joseph and Obed McCoy took one wicket each.
Later, Taskin Ahmed, Rishad Hossain, Mahedi Hasan, Tanzim Hasan and Hasan Mahmud played the key role to mop up the hosts’ innings.
Taskin Ahmed claimed three wickets in the space of 16 runs, while Rishad Hossain, Mahedi Hasan, Tanzim Hasan grabbed two wickets each giving 12, 20 and 22 runs respectively.
Hasan Mahmud picked up one wicket for 23 runs.
Roston Chase and Akeal Hosein fought back against the superb bowling attack of Bangladesh bowlers.
Chase notched up a remarkable 32. His 34-ball innings had two sixes and one four.
Akeal Hosein hit a run-a-ball 31 including two sixes.
