Rangpur journos view exchange meeting held

A divisional level journalist view exchange meeting of non-governmental aid organisation ASHA was held in Rangpur on Thursday morning at the NGO Forum Auditorium in the city’s Dhap area.
The chief guest spoke at the event, Deputy Civil Surgeon Dr. Ruhul Amin, special guest ASHA Executive Vice President ShaoliJharna, Joint Deputy Director Sheikh Obaidullah, Press Club President MonabborHossain Mona, Secretary Marina Lovely, Deputy Director ASHA, etc. ASHA Divisional Manager SM BelalHossain presided over the event. At the press conference, ASHA announced that it has spent 79.7 crore taka in the social security sector in the 2023-2024 financial year. It has allocated 184 crore taka in the sector in the 2024-2025 financial year. In the meeting, journalists were informed about ASHA’s social development programs such as education, scholarship, primary healthcare, physiotherapy, sanitation and disaster relief, etc., in addition to the loan and savings programs. They said that 215 banks in Rangpur division have distributed loans worth Tk 3,23,427crore to 5,29,463 people during the financial year 2023-2024. At the meeting, various journalists from various print and electronic media of Rangpur district were informed about the various programs of the organization.
