Drug traders held, phensedyl seized in city

Detective Branch (DB) of Police under Tejgaon division has arrested two drug traders and seized 172 bottles of phensedyl syrup from the city’s Bangshal area.

The arrested are Aklima Khatun, 38, and Naim Hasan Rabbi alias Ridoy, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Media and Public Relations Division) of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police Muhammad Talebur Rahman told journalists Monday evening, reports BSS.

He said a team of the DB under Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) conducted a drive in front of the Central Veterinary Hospital under the Bangshal Police Station around 4 pm.

During the drive, the DB team arrested the drug traders and seized the contraband items from their possession, Talebur added.

During the preliminary interrogation, the arrested confessed that they collected drugs from the drug paddlers in the border area of Chuadanga district.
