A farmer named Fazar Shaikh (62), son of one late Kashem Shaikh of village Lalchandrapur within Mansa-Bahirdia Union Parishad under Fakirhat Upazila in Bagerhat district met his tragic end when he was electrocuted in his own fish farm on Friday evening, according to a report received here. S M Alamgir Kabir, Officer-in-charge of Fakirhat Model PS told, in the evening when Fazar Shaikh was returning home from his fish farm, somehow, he slipped and came in contract with a live electricity wire. He was rushed to the Fakirhat UJpazila Health Complex where the physician on duty declared him dead. On information a police squad visited the spot and recovered the dead body after preparing a spot verification report. Later, the dead body was handed over to the family-members after completing all the legal proceedings,
Another report states that on Monday last a day labour named Chakawat Akon (47) while he was cutting a branch of a tree at the village Dakkhin Kadamtala under Sharnkhola Upazila in the district and when the branch of the tree touched the live electricity wires pass by the side of the tree he was electrocuted and fell on the ground from the tree.
He was immediately taken to the Sharankhola Upazila Health Complex where the physician on duty declared him dead. He was the son of one Gani Akon of the same village.
