Mahabubur Rahaman, a distinguished barrister and journalist, has achieved remarkable success in England and Wales, standing out as a practicing barrister and an inspiring figure in the legal and Bangladeshi communities.

A graduate of Lincoln’s Inn, one of the most prestigious Inns of Court in the UK, Mahabubur Rahaman has been approved by the Bar Standards Board to practice as a Barrister.

He has gained extensive experience as a solicitor advocate, representing clients in all Higher Courts of the UK. His legal acumen recently earned him a tenancy at New Walk Chambers, cementing his place in the UK legal landscape.

A Multifaceted Journey
Mahabubur Rahaman’s path to becoming a barrister is unique. Starting his career as a journalist in 2001 while studying at Dhaka University, he worked for esteemed media outlets such as Daily Amar Desh, Banglabazar Patrika, The Guardian, and Reuters News, UK. His investigative reports earned him accolades but also threats to his life, particularly after exposing the alleged fabrication of an international award for Bangladesh’s Prime Minister Ms Sheikh Hasina in 2013. These threats forced him to emigrate to the UK.

In the legal arena, Mahabubur Rahaman has excelled in fields such as International War Crimes, Human Rights, Immigration, and Money Laundering. His academic achievements include B.A. Honours and Masters’ degrees from Dhaka University, Graduation Diploma in Law and Legal Practice Course from Westminster University, and Higher Rights of Audience from BPP University.
