City Desk :

NSU Startups Next, the academic incubator of North South University, organised a successful and insightful fireside chat featuring Sadia Haque, the co-founder of ShareTrip, Bangladesh’s leading online travel technology company.

The 20 November 2024 (Wednesday) event aimed at showcasing the challenges and strategies associated with building a successful startup in Bangladesh. The event anticipated a turnout of around 60 people.

The seminar was moderated by NSU Startups Next’s coordinators, Quazi Tafsirul Islam and Faiz Ibne Hossain, and welcomed students, aspiring entrepreneurs, and faculty members for an evening filled with inspiration and valuable takeaways.

The session provided an open platform for Sadia Haque to share her firsthand experiences, outlining the obstacles she overcame, the lessons she learned, and the pivotal moments that defined her entrepreneurial path.

Sadia Haque highlighted the importance of personal branding for early-stage entrepreneurs: “At an early stage, an entrepreneur’s communication skills are more important than the product or service. It is not important to sell your idea. It is important to sell yourself.”

Through her powerful narrative, attendees gained unique insights into the startup ecosystem in Bangladesh and the importance of resilience, innovation, and strategic thinking when navigating the competitive business landscape. The fireside chat concluded with a Q&A segment, where participants engaged directly with Sadia Haque, deepening their understanding of the entrepreneurial journey.

NSU Startups Next continues to empower students and budding entrepreneurs by providing opportunities to learn from real-world experiences and foster a supportive startup community in Bangladesh.
