Abu Jafar new DMD of Al-Arafah Bank

S M Abu Jafar has recently been promoted as Deputy Managing Director (DMD) of Al-Arafah Islami Bank PLC. Prior to the promotion he was serving as Senior Executive Vice President since 2021, bringing with him a wealth of experience from a remarkable banking career that began in 2000 at Exim Bank PLC as a recruit of 1st Batch of Management Trainee Officer.

Prior, S M Abu Jafar held key positions at Exim Bank and United Commercial Bank. This diverse experience spans especially foreign trade desk, manager (operations) as well as manager of three corporate and AD branches contributing to his extensive 24-year background in the Banking sector. He has been awarded “Chairman Gold Medal” for three times for his outstanding performances. He has also received “Integrity Award” from AIB PLC in 2017.
In addition to his practical experience, S M Abu Jafar has undergone numerous trainings in Banking and Finance.
