New textbooks for grades 6-7 to be available early Jan

Finance Adviser Dr Salehuddin Ahmed on Wednesday said students of grades six and seven in both Bengali and English versions of the Secondary and Higher Education Department, as well as Madrasah and Technical Education, will receive new textbooks in early January.

He said, “The government procurement advisory committee has approved the printing of textbooks for grades six and seven in both Bengali and English versions including technical board, for the 2025 academic year.”

Salehuddin made this announcement to the media following a meeting of the government procurement advisory committee, chaired by the finance adviser at the Secretariat.

According to meeting sources, approval has been granted for the printing of Bengali and English versions’ textbooks for grades six and seven including first, second, and third grades of Madrasah, and Technical education. The total cost for printing, binding, and supplying 12,64,61,646 textbooks for these grades will be Tk 527,93,32,777.
