New Zealand reach maiden World Cup final

New Zealand have reached the final of ICC Cricket World Cup 2015 for the first time of the tournament history beating South Africa by 4 wickets in the first semi-final in Auckland on Tuesday. South Africa scored 281 runs in 43 overs they got due to rain for the loss of 5 wickets after skipper AB de Villiers chose to bat first at Eden Park. New Zealand were set a 298-run target from 43 overs (D/L method). The Black Caps reached the target for 6 wickets with one ball to spare. Chasing a big total of 298-run, the Black Caps had a brilliant start and collected 71 runs off 6 overs. But the situation changed when Brendon McCullum got out for 59 off 26 balls who hit 8 fours and 4 sixes. However, Elliott and Anderson built 103-run partnership in the 5th wicket off 98 balls after New Zealand lost fourth wicket for 149 runs in 21.4 overs. Adderson scored 58 runs off 57 balls hitting 6 fours and 2 sixes. Elliott went further and South Africa pacer Morne Morkel claimed three wickets for 59 runs in 9 overs. Earlier, the Proteas were 216/3 in 38 runs when rain appeared. Later 7 over were cut from each side and made the match 43 overs per side according to DL method. Faf du Plessis scored 82 runs off 107 balls hitting 7 fours and 1 six before getting out in the second ball after play resumed. The Proteas added 65 runs in the rest of the 5 overs of the match after rain. David Miller smashed 49 runs off 18 balls with 6 fours and 3 sixes. South Africa skipper AB de Villiers was unbeaten on 65 runs. He played only 45 balls and hit 8 fours and a six. Besides, Rossouw added 39 runs more. New Zealand Corey Anderson while Trent Boult took 2 more for 53 runs in 9 overs.
