Nur Hossain’s aide held in Comilla

Police arrested an aide of Nur Hossain, the prime accused in the Narayanganj seven-murder cases, from Devpur Bazar area in Burichang upazila here on Monday.
The arrestee was identified as Raham Ali, 40, son of Bahadur Biswas of Sarulia in Demra of Dhaka.
Tipped off, a team of Burichang Police Station launched a drive in the bazaar area at around 6:30pm and arrested
Raham, said Jahirul Islam, officer-in-charge of the police station. Raham was accused in the cases filed over the seven murders of Narayanganj, said the OC, adding that he went into hiding after the incident came to light.
On April 27 last year, Narayanganj panel mayor Nazrul Islam, his three associates and driver were abducted by miscreants from Fatullah area of the city. At the same time, senior lawyer Chandan Kumar Sarker and his driver were also abducted on their way to capital Dhaka.
Three days into their abduction, the bodies of six people, including that of Nazrul and Chandan Kumar, were recovered from the Shitalakhya River on April 30. The body of Jahangir, car driver of Nazrul Islam, was recovered from the river the following day.
