Pakistan suffer setback, India win

FIFA’s lowest ranked member Bhutan caused sensation on Thursday atColombo handing pre-match favourites Sri Lanka a 1-0 defeat in the first leg of the World Cup Football 2018: Asia Zone qualifiers (first round) match. The return match will be held at Thimphu on March 17.
In contrast, Pakistan’s aspiration received a big jolt on Thursday at Doha, Qatar, losing to Yemen by 1-3 goals. The second leg will be held in Lahore.
The same day, India scored two goals against Nepal at home and conceded none. They will sail into the second round, even if they lose the return match by a single goal, or by 1-3 goals at Kathmandu.

Yemen 3-1 Pakistan, Timor-Leste 4-1 Mongolia, Cambodia 3-0 Macau of China, Sri Lanka 0-1 Bhutan, Chinese Taipei 0-1 Brunei Darussalam and India 2-0 Nepal. Bangladesh are given bye.
