Steady Flood Conditions:  Low-lying areas of Kurigram, Jamalpur, Gaibandha, Bogra, Tangail, and Sirajganj districts along the Brahmaputra-Jamuna river may experience sustained flooding, according to the latest bulletin.

Rising Rivers:  Within the next 24 hours, the Teesta, Dharla, and Dudhkumar rivers in the northern region are expected to rise significantly. This surge could temporarily push water levels above the danger mark at certain stations, particularly affecting Kurigram district near the Dudhkumar River.

Other Rivers Under Watch: The Jamuneswari, Upper Karatoa, Upper Atrai, Punarava, Tangon, and Ichamoti-Jamuna rivers are also anticipated to rise rapidly during specific periods.

Improving Situations: There is some relief expected for low-lying areas of Sirajganj district along the Atrai River, where water levels are projected to decrease at the Baghabari point in the north-western region.

Northeastern Region Stability: Flood conditions in various low-lying areas of the northeastern region are expected to remain stable for now.

River Trends: Currently, the Brahmaputra River is on a rising trend, while the Jamuna River remains steady. Both rivers are forecasted to maintain their current levels over the next 24 hours. Meanwhile, the Ganges River is experiencing a rising trend expected to persist for the next 72 hours, while the Padma River’s water level remains stable.

Northeastern River Status: In the northeastern region, the Kushiyara River’s level is stable, but the Surma River is rising and expected to continue rising over the next 24 hours.

Weather Outlook:  Meteorological forecasts indicate heavy rainfall in the coming 24 hours across the northern and northeastern regions of Bangladesh, including upstream areas.

Residents in flood-prone areas are urged to stay updated with local advisories and take necessary precautions to ensure their safety amid the evolving flood situation.
