EU ambassador forced to leave car, takes auto-rickshaw

The students’ protest to reform the quota system forced European Union (EU) ambassador to Bangladesh Charles Whiteley and Deputy Head of Mission Dr. Bernd Spanier to abandon their car on the Dhaka Expressway and take a
CNG-un auto-rickshaw to attend a scheduled meeting with Parliament Speaker Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury.
In addition to taking the auto-rickshaw, they had to walk a portion of the way and carefully navigate the railings of the expressway due to the blockade by students holding the Bangla Blockade on the expressway. Furthermore, Whiteley posted a video of their journey from the expressway, where they abandoned the car, to the National Parliament on the microblogging platform X. The video was shot by Deputy Head of Mission Dr. Bernd Spanier.
