BNP announces partial committee of Juba Dal

Staff Reporter :

The main opposition party, BNP, has formed a six-member partial committee for its youth wing, Jatiyatabadi Juba Dal, on Tuesday as part of an ongoing effort to overhaul the party and its affiliate bodies.

Abdul Monayem Munna has been appointed as the president of the newly formed central committee of Juba Dal, with Nurul Islam Nayan selected as the General Secretary. This new committee comes just 25 days after the dissolution of the previous Juba Dal committee.

The announcement was made through a press release signed by Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi. Abdul Monayem Munna previously served as the General Secretary of the dissolved Juba Dal committee, while Nayan was its vice-president. Other members of the new committee include Rezaul Karim Pol as Senior Vice-President, Billal Hossain Tarek as Joint General Secretary, Kamruzzaman Jewel as Organisational Secretary, and Nurul Islam Sohel as Office Secretary.

The press release indicated that a full-fledged central committee of Juba Dal would be announced at a later date. On June 14, BNP dissolved the central committee of Juba Dal, which was led by President Sultan Salahuddin Tuku and General Secretary Abdul Monayem Munna.

Previously, on May 22, 2022, the BNP had formed an eight-member partial committee of Juba Dal, appointing Sultan Salahuddin Tuku as president and Abdul Monayem Munna as general secretary. After nine months, on February 22, 2023, a full-fledged 251-member Central Juba Dal committee was announced.
