UTS College holds roundtable discussion

Staff Reporter :

Australia has emerged as a shining star in the global higher education landscape.

The degrees offered by Australian universities are gaining increasing recognition worldwide. However, the number of students from Bangladesh pursuing higher education abroad still lags behind those choosing universities in North America and Europe. To understand the challenges and mindset of Bangladeshi students, UTS College Bangladesh organized a roundtable discussion on July 3, Wednesday. The discussion, held at Chittagong Club, brought together stakeholders from the education sector in Chittagong.

The University of Technology Sydney (UTS), a renowned Australian university ranked 88th in the recent world rankings, has now opened a campus in Bangladesh.

Under the UTS College Bangladesh, which has UGC approval, Bangladeshi students can now start their first year of their degree in Bangladesh and continue their studies directly at the university’s Sydney campus from the second year. Premier University in Chittagong is the course delivery partner in Bangladesh, and Bangladesh Education and Research Institute (BERI) is the local representative of UTS College in Bangladesh.

The roundtable discussion was moderated by Professor Dr. Taufique Sayeed, Treasurer of Premier University and Program Coordinator of UTS College Bangladesh.

The session was chaired by Peter Harris, Senior Executive and Director of UTS College. Other participants from UTS College included Regional Partner Manager-Subcontinent Aparajita Malla, Country Head and Ambassador of UTS College Bangladesh Naquib Khan, and BERI Founder and CEO Dr. Arif Jubaer.
