Doctor discovered dead in Rangpur Medical dorm

The police recovered the bloody body of a doctor from the dormitory of Rangpur Medical College Hospital.
According to sources, the body was found naked in a room on the fifth floor of the Sheikh Russell dormitory of the hospital on Tuesday at 11 am.
The doctor has been identified as Md. Aktaruzzaman.
He was working as a medical officer in the neurosurgery department of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University Hospital.
His home is in Nilphamari district. He passed MBBS from Rangpur Medical College and was pursuing post-graduation there.
He had come to the college on July 6 to take part in an examination.
According to hospital and police sources, around 11 o’clock on Tuesday, a rotten smell was emanating from room six-F on the fifth floor of the Sheikh Russell Dormitory Building of Rangpur Medical College. At this time, students noticed blood seeping from under the door.
Upon being informed, hospital authorities, along with police and a magistrate, arrived at the scene and broke down the door.
They found the doctor’s naked body lying on the floor. According to medical college sources, Aktaruzzaman had come to Rangpur Medical College Hospital to take the post-graduation exam for a Diploma in Forensic Medicine and Science.
The exam is scheduled for July 6 at the Ramek exam center.
Rangpur Metropolitan Police Assistant Commissioner of Police (Kotwali Zone) Arifuzzaman stated that the doctor’s body was recovered after receiving information.
He added that nothing can be confirmed until the autopsy is completed and that the matter is under investigation.
