Bashundhara Kings clinch Fed Cup Football title

Bashundhara Kings came back and clinched the Federation Cup Football title defeating Dhaka Mohammedan Sporting Club Limited 2-1 in the final at the Rafique Uddin Bhuiyan Stadium in Mymensingh on Wednesday.

By winning the Federation Cup Football title, Bashundhara Kings retained their supremacy in the domestic football competitions of Bangladesh.

Bashundhara annexed the treble, while Dhaka Mohammedan Sporting Club failed to retain the Federation Cup Football title.

After a barren first half, Emmanuel Sunday of Dhaka Mohammedan Sporting Club put his team ahead by an angular shot after dodging past Bashundhara’s Md Sohel in the 63rd minute of the clash.

Miguel Ferreira of Bshundhara Kings equalized the margin after dodging past two defenders of Dhaka Mohammedan Sporting Club Limited in the 86th minute of the game.

As the stipulated ninety-minute match ended in a 1-1 draw, the game was turned into extra 30-minute match.
Jahid Hossain of Bashundhara Kings got a ball on his way from a corner kick of his teammate Miguel and Jahid Hossain made no mistake to found the net in the 105th minute of the game.

Mohammedan got the first chance in the ninth minute of the match. But Mohammedan’s Uzbek recruit Muzaffarov’s free-kick went wide.

In the 13th minute, Rakib Hossain of Bashundhara Kings failed to defeat the Mohammedan’s defender which ball he got from a cross of his teammate Rimon Hossain.

After two minutes, Bashundhara’s Miguel’s corner was cleared by Mohammedan goalie Sujon Hossain.
In the 26th minute, Bashundhara’s Brazilian recruit Robson Robinho got a through from his teammate Miguel but Mohammedan’s defender blocked him.

After one minute, Bashundhara’s Brazilian forward Dorielton got a through pass of his teammate Rakib Hossain but Dorielton’s shot was saved by Mohammedan goalie Sujon Hossain.

Miguel’s left-footer free-kick was gripped by Sujon Hossain in the 38th minute of the match.

In the 42nd minute of the game, Mohammedan’s Malian forward Souleymane Diabate got the ball from a cross of his teammate Arif Hossain but Diabate’s spectacular shot was gripped by Bashundhara custodian Mehedi Hasan Srabon.

In the injury time of the first half, Bashundhara’s forward Rakib Hossain entered the D-box with the ball but he was tackled by Mohammedan’s player Rakibul Islam.

Muzaffarov and Emmanuel came close to score in 51st minute and 59th minute respectively but failed.

In the 81st minute, Robson Robinho’s power-packed shot was fisted by Mohammedan goalie Sujon.

Shahriar Emon of Mohammedan’s shot was passed away the goalbar just at the dying moment. Thus, Bashundhara won the title.
