RDRS Bangladesh, a trailblazing organization dedicated to development and humanitarian endeavors spanning over 52 years, proudly announces the election of Mr. Faruque Ahmed as the new Chairperson of its esteemed Board of Trustees. Mr. Ahmed’s appointment was confirmed during the 66th meeting of the Board, marking the beginning of his three-year tenure effective from April 27, 2024.
Faruque Ahmed, a distinguished individual with a master’s degree in Economics from Dhaka University and another master’s in Health Sciences from Johns Hopkins University, USA, brings a wealth of experience in the development sector to his new role. His illustrious career includes serving as the Executive Director of BRAC International and contributing to the World Bank office in Dhaka. Additionally, Mr. Ahmed’s involvement as a board member of the vaccine alliance, GAVI, in Geneva, as well as his participation in various committees of the World Health Organization (WHO) and the World Bank, underscores his global impact in the field of development.
Presently, Mr. Ahmed holds the position of a board member at the Social Marketing Company (SMC) Enterprise and actively contributes to the Bangladesh Health Watch working group. Notably, his association with the RDRS Board of Trustees since March 16, 2020, signifies his enduring dedication to the organization’s mission of fostering development.
RDRS is confident that under Mr. Faruque Ahmed’s astute leadership, the organization will continue to uphold and bolster its commitment to serving marginalized communities nationwide. His profound expertise and unwavering passion for development are poised to propel RDRS towards greater heights of impact and excellence in its endeavors.
