DU student drowns in university swimming pool

A Dhaka University (DU) student died after drowning in the swimming pool of Dhaka University located near university’s central playground.

The deceased Muhammad Suad Haque (19), was a first year student of philosophy department and resident of Haji Muhammad Mohsin Hall. He hailed from Bogura.

Bacchu Mia, officer in charge of Dhaka Medical College Hospital police camp, confirmed the information and said that his dead body has been sent to morgue.

Sohag Hossen, a witness said, “He saw some people surrounding a body on one of the banks of the pool, when he went there, he came to know that Suad was rescued from the bottom of the pool.”

However, his friends claimed that Suad knew swimming. But they do not know how this happened.
