Fake certificate forging sign of DC detected, one held

A person named Mohammad Akhtar (49) forged the signature of Chittagong Deputy Commissioner and produced ‘unmarried certificate’. He was arrested while extending the period of that charter. On Thursday (April 18) he was arrested at the office of the Deputy Commissioner and handed over to the Kotwali Police Station, sccording to police sources, Chittagong Deputy Commissioner’s Staff Officer, Assistant Commissioner and Executive Magistrate Md. Al Amin Hossain confirmed the news.
An application was made to extend the validity of ‘unmarried certificate’. By looking at the paper, it was found that the certificate was created by forging the signature of Chittagong Deputy Commissioner Abul Basar Mohammad Fakhruzzaman and an attempt was made to extend its validity for the purpose of fraud.
The detained Mohammad Akhtar is the son of Shahidullah Sardar of Maitvhanga Amin Khan Bari under Sandwip police station. Kotwali Police Station OC Obaidul Haque said on the order of Al Amin Hossain, the accused was taken into police custody after taking the statement.
