‘FBCCI strives for a more sustainable business environment’

Dr. Md. Shadi-uz-Zaman, a promising business leader and Managing Director of Notundhora Assets Limited and the Notundhora Group, serves as a member of the Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industries (FBCCI), nominated by the Bangladesh Land Developers Association.
He earned his PhD in real estate management from a university in Paris, France, becoming the first Bangladeshi to achieve this distinction.
The university has featured Dr. Sadi-uz-Zaman on its website, highlighting Bangladesh’s distinguished representation.
At the age of 27, he held the position of General Manager (GM) for the US-Bangla group. Dr. Shadi-uz-Zaman has spent several years working for prominent companies in the real estate sector.
With over 20 years of experience, he remains a chief adviser and adviser to various renowned real estate companies.
Dr. Shadi-uz-Zaman co-founded Notundhora Assets Limited, setting international standards in collaboration with other entrepreneurs. Notundhora Assets Ltd is a certified company, fully compliant with environmental standards and regulations, including those set by the Deputy Commissioners.
In an interview with The New Nation, Dr. Shadi-uz-Zaman lauded the FBCCI’s role in overcoming the economic challenges posed by the post-COVID pandemic in Bangladesh. He expressed gratitude towards Allah and remarked that the FBCCI has emerged as a pivotal force in the country’s economy.
When asked about Notundhora Assets Ltd’s contributions to the real estate sector, Dr. Shadi-uz-Zaman mentioned the high demand for flats.
“We are constructing new flats, with only a few remaining unsold due to the current high demand,” he explained.
He also noted the rise in construction material prices, leading to increased construction costs.
The future of Dhaka’s real estate business, according to Dr. Shadi-uz-Zaman, largely depends on the proposed Detailed Area Plan (DAP).
He and other housing sector businessmen believe that without significant reforms to the DAP, only the affluent will be able to afford flats. They have urgently called for necessary changes to the DAP.
Addressing another question, Dr. Shadi-uz-Zaman stated that the 100 under-construction Economic Zones would adhere to environmental standards as directed by the Prime Minister.
He praised the construction of the historic Padma Bridge, which he believes will revolutionize communication within the country. “Developing communication infrastructure is essential for boosting business activities.
The Padma Bridge will facilitate rapid communication for business people,” said Dr. Shadi-uz-Zaman.
Discussing the Notundhora housing project, he highlighted its prime location near the 300-feet Dhaka-Mawa expressway, linked with the Padma Bridge. “Notundhora is an extraordinary and unparalleled housing project for the new generation,” he stated. Situated 18 KM from Dhaka’s business hub, Motijheel, the project spans three unions in the Munshiganj districts of Sirajdikhan and Srinagar. Notundhora has received no objection certificates from the environment department and letters of appreciation from upazila administrations for its exceptional goodwill.
“Moreover, indemnity certificates from the district administration confirm our transparency.
We are the only trademark-registered enterprise in the housing sector granted district administration permits for land purchases under the land management manual,” he concluded.
