BD pushed into cultural, economic subordination: Rizvi
Staff Reporter :
BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi on Tuesday claimed that Sheikh Hasina has pushed Bangladesh into cultural, political, and economic subordination.
He made the comments at an Eid clothing distribution occasion among the poor and needy.
on behalf of BNP acting Chairman Tarique Rahman, organised by Zia Projanmo Dal (ZPD), held at the party Nayapalton central office.
“They are trying to repress what is our own, derived from our soil.”
Rizvi said those who have the minimum financial capability were used to arrange an iftar party in the month of Ramadan at home, at institutions, or at organisations like social or political aiming to feed close relatives and poor and needy people.
“This year, the government banned arranging iftar parties at the university or outside of the university. They allow arranging all kinds of programmes except iftar parties.
They don’t like it. Sharply, they are attacking the country’s majority’s cultural values”.
The BNP leader alleged that Sheikh Hasina is doing this to implement her master’s will.
“We could not realise it primarily. But if we think deeply, we could assume that is how they are interfering country’s religious and cultural beliefs.”
Rizvi said why we will buy their share, Lungi; use toothpaste as they are not respecting our people, our values. They killed our people at the border on a regular basis.
“There were signed treaties and protocols on border killing, but BSF doesn’t bother with them.
They are frequently killing our people at the border.”
They claimed they were a democratic country.
But they don’t recognise Bangladesh’s sovereignty independence, democratic process, and Bangladeshi people also.
They stand beside one political party to retain power permanently.
They certified them and maintained a lobby worldwide for them, (AL), Rizvi said.
Those who did not recognise the country’s people are from other political parties, so why will people use their products, he said.
