Raushan Ershad calls for party unity
Staff Reporter :
Raushan Ershad, the factional chairman of Jatiya Party (JaPa), has attributed the party’s recent electoral setback to the weakened state of its top leadership, citing issues such as leadership myopia, lack of experience in party management, and erroneous decisions.
Addressing the media, she said, “I have taken the initiative to shield the party from these challenges and to initiate a reorganization process. Our successful completion of the party’s tenth national conference underscores the urgent necessity for a well-structured national party to steer the country along a stable political trajectory.”
These remarks were made during a gathering at her residence in Gulshan on Wednesday (March 20), organised to commemorate the 95th birthday of Jatiya Party’s founder, the late Hussein Muhammad Ershad.
Raushan Ershad emphasised that the repercussions of the election debacle have reverberated throughout the entire party.
She urged, “Those who once supported Ershad – everyone is invited to Pallibandhu Ershad’s birthday celebration. Let us unite once again under the banner of Jatiya Party and actualise Pallibandhu’s aspirations.”
She reiterated, “I harbour no animosity towards anyone. Those who were absent from the party’s tenth council should also return to the fold of the Jatiya party. Our aim is to present a unified Jatiya Party as a gift to the nation.”
