There lodged a complaint about construction of paved buildings on the Lama-Sualok road in Kayajupara market of Sarai union of Lama upazila of Bandarban district. Locals have filed written complaints with the concerned authorities including Deputy Commissioner, but no action is being taken due to mysterious reasons. Due to this, extreme anger has been created among them.
According to the surface inspection, the only communication road in Lama upazila of Bandarban district is Lama Sualok road. The road was paved in 2020. During the construction of the road, 0.80 hundredths of land of plot No. 49 of No. 303 Doluchari Mauza was left as Khas in Kayajupara market of Sarai Union of Lama Upazila for later needs. The land was abandoned as Khashami. Recently, the former chairman of Sarai Inion Parishad, Mohammad Ali Sikdar, started the construction of paved buildings on the site next to the road. He is the vice president of Lama Upazila Awami League.Locals said that the construction of paved buildings in the place of the road will cause a lot of damage to the local people. There will be huge problems in their movement. A month and a half ago, a local man named Abu Hanif filed a written complaint with various offices including Bandarban District Commissioner. But for mysterious reasons, the administration is playing a silent role. Meanwhile, due to the complaints, Mohammad Ali Sikder wants to finish the building construction work as soon as possible. Building construction is going on day and night.
Locals said that the only road from Bandarban to Lama-Alikdam-Cox’s Bazar-Chittagong is Lama Sualok road. Every day hundreds of passenger and cargo vehicles ply on this road. During the construction of the road, keeping in mind the Kayajupara market, the authorities keep some space beside the road for future expansion of the road. Later the place will be used for road expansion but Mohammad Ali Sikder is building a market on the road with the influence of the ruling party. Local resident and Sarai Union Parishad Secretary Mohammad Mucha said that the place where the building is being constructed is the whole area of Lama Sualok Road. But no one is protesting for fear of Mohammad Ali Sikder. When contacted on Mobair, Mohammad Ali Sikder said, “I am busy.” I will call you later. Bandarban Deputy Commissioner Shah Mujahid Uddin was contacted on mobile and said, “The matter has not yet come to my attention.” So you have to see a little.
