Tigers-Lanka 2nd ODI today

Spirited Bangladesh Cricket team will face Sri Lanka Cricket team in their second One Day international (ODI) match at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chattogram, the port city of the country today.

Najmul Hossain Shanto will lead Bangladesh as the captain, while Kusal Mendis will lead Sri Lanka as the skipper.

The crucial match will start at 2.30pm (Bangladesh Standrard Time). Private satellite channel GTV, private satellite sports channel T Sports will telecast the match live.

The Tigers led the ODI series 1-0.

If Bangladesh win today’s match, Bangladesh will clinch the ODI series 2-0 remaining with one game.

On the other hand, if Sri Lanka want to keep their hope alive, they have to win today’s clash.

It is noteworthy that Bangladesh made an auspicious start in the three-match ODI series thrashing the Islanders by six wickets in the first ODI at the same venue on Wednesday last.

Bangladesh bowlers failed to make a satisfactory start from the beginning.

Later, the three pacers Tanzim Hasan, Taskin Ahmed and Shoriful Islam came back and did their job properly.

After the match, Mr. Dependable Mushfiqur Rahim highly praised the pacers trio of Bangladesh.

Mushfiqur Rahim said, ” The wicket favoured for the bowlers from the starting of the Sri Lanka innings.

Our beginning spells were not up to the mark.

Shoriful Islam has been bowling well for two years. Taskin has been bowling also well.

They could not execute their plan. But they really came back well. It was outstanding.”

Tanzim Hasan picked up the first three wickets of Sri Lanka. Mushfiqur Rahim thinks that it was the turning point of the match.

The ace batter said, ” Tanzim picked up the three wickets of Sri Lanka at the appropriate time.

Taskin also came back superbly.

Shoriful Islam also shone with the cherry near the finishing of the Sri Lanka innings. The bowling and fielding effort of Bangladesh was altogether outstanding.”

Mushfiqur Rahim is impressed with the behaviour of Tanzim Hasan.

Mushfiqur Rahim said, ” Tanzim has all kind of quality of pacer.

Aggressive approach and attempt of Tanzim is really good. When a young bowler has done this, it will be an extra achievement for a team.

If anybody comes with such kind of quality to play cricket, he need not anything to learn.”
