Another loan defaulter of Padma Bank arrested

Mohammad Rafiqul Islam alias Rafiq, a loan defaulter of the Haluaghat branch of Padma Bank who was convicted in a loan default case, has been arrested.
He was arrested by the Haluaghat police station on Tuesday. With this, the police have been able to arrest the third convicted loan defaulter with the assistance of the Recovery Taskforce Team of Padma Bank PLC, according to a media release. A warrant of arrest was issued against him by the Mymensingh District and Sessions Judge’s Court on January 25, 2023, in a case filed by Padma Bank PLC.
Mohammad Rafiqul Islam alias Rafiq, the owner of Bhai Bhai Traders, a defaulter of Haluaghat branch, owes Padma Bank PLC 7.3 million (seventy-three lakh) taka in principal and interest.
Earlier, the police were able to arrest Md Jahidul Hasan, a loan defaulter of Basundhara branch, and Md Ashraful Alam alias Selim, a loan defaulter of Bakshiganj branch, with the assistance of the Recovery Taskforce Team of Padma Bank PLC.
