Nat’l Jute Day observed in Kishoreganj

The National Jute Day-2024 was observed on Wednesday throughout the country including Kishoreganj with a view to making jute goods popular among the people.
This year’s theme of the day is ‘Bangabandhu er Sonar Desh, Smart Pat Shilper Bangaldesh’.
District Administration in Kishoreganj supported by Department of Jute, Jute Research Institute arranged a colourful rally, discussion, handbills distribution and cultural function marking the National Jute Day.
A discussion meeting was held in this regard at the local Collectorate Conference room on Wednesday morning. Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC, General) Rubel Mahamud was in the chair.
It was addressed among others by Assistant Commissioner and Executive Magistrate Mehadi Hasan, Chief Scientific Officer in Jute Institute Dr. Younes Ali, CAB district president and senior journalist Alam Sarowar Tito, Krishak League district general secretary Anowar Hossain Bachu and Jute Development Officer Abdul Jalil.
ADC (General) Rubel Mahamud hoped that jute would play a positive role in the economic growth of the nation as well as the protection of the environment.
