Banks to run for 5 hours during Ramadan

The Bangladesh Bank has announced through a circular issued on March 5th, that banks across Bangladesh will operate from 9:30 am to 4:00 pm during Ramadan. However, transactions will only be permitted until 2:30 pm.

During the month of Ramadan, a break for Zuhr prayers will be observed from 1:15 pm to 1:30 pm. Banks are permitted to internally coordinate and continue banking transactions during this brief time.

Following the conclusion of Ramadan, banking hours will return to their previous schedule of 10:00 am to 5:00 pm, as stated in the circular.
