IMA holds 12th batch passing out ceremony

The passing out ceremony of the 12th batch of pre-sea cadets of International Maritime Academy (IMA) was held with ceremony and grandeur at its own campus at Pubial, Gazipur. Seventy-eight cadets of 12th batch have passed out this year from Nautical and Engineering division. IMA is the first permanent institution for maritime training in the private sector.
On 1st March 2010, the International Maritime Academy celebrated the passing out ceremony of its first batch of cadets. Subsequently, eleven batch of cadets and eight batch of ratings passed out from this academy. Presently, 80 cadets of 13th batch and 50 Ratings of 9th batch is undergoing training.
The training is conducted as per the syllabus approved by the Department of Shipping and Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Maritime University. On completion of two-year training at the institute, the trainees will join as cadets on foreign going vessels, managed by M/s Haque and Sons Ltd. in reputed foreign flag companies. They will also earn their salary as per international scale.
