Militancy have no place in Bangladesh: IGP
Staff Reporter :
Inspector General of Police (IGP) Chowdhury Abdullah Al-Mamun said that drugs, terrorism and militancy have no place in the Sonar Bengal of Bangabandhu’s dream and the declared smart Bangladesh of the prime minister.
Police should be established as a technology-based, people-oriented, service-oriented and people-friendly force. We want to make the police station as a place of trust, confidence of the people as well as the main center of service.
The IGP said this on the second day of police week at Rajarbagh in the capital on Wednesday morning.
He said, I have given clear instructions so that respectable citizens of the country can easily and fearlessly come to the police station, talk about their problems and receive the requested services. I would like to see the police station as a place of justice especially for those who are very ordinary people, working people, innocent, oppressed, poor and women.
Ensuring this the main and first thing will be good manners, listen to people and taking legal action very quickly. Any excuse and deviation in this regard will not be acceptable.
The police chief said that the desired services should be delivered to people of all classes and professions of the society.
With the collective efforts of all, we can truly make the country a non-communal, progressive, inclusive, developed, prosperous and smart Bangladesh in 2041.
