Tk 2.5 lakh fined for removing soil of hills, agri land

A mobile court has fined 5 persons a total of Tk 255,500 for cutting the soil of hills and agricultural land in Kulaura of Moulvibazar. The upazila Assistant Commissioner (Land) and Executive Magistrate Md Mehedi Hasan imposed this penalty by raiding various areas of the upazila throughout the day on Thursday.
On Thursday, day-long operations were conducted in various union areas of the upazila. During the operation, Syeda Fahima (32) was fined Tk 150,000 for the crime of hill cutting in Gobindpur village of Brahmanbazar Union Tk 50 thousand was given to Ratan Dhar (52) for the crime of cutting the topsoil of agricultural land in Chhokapan village of Kadipur Union and Tk 50 thousand to Bhukshimail Union for the same crime.
50 thousand taka to Surman (33) in Hakaluki Haor area, 5 thousand taka to Sujit (28) for driving a heavy vehicle with a light vehicle driving license and 2 lakh 55 taka to Faizur Rahman Kamrul (40) for obstructing the performance of official duties.
