AL men involved in plundering money: BNP
Staff Reporter :
The main opposition party, BNP, on Wednesday alleged that leaders of the ruling Awami League are currently embroiled in internal conflicts over securing a portion of embezzled funds.
“Beneath the surface of our nation lies profound darkness and rampant disorder in both economic and social realms,” stated BNP Senior Joint-Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi, during a leaflet distribution event in Gulshan, as part of the party’s agenda.
“What we witness in our social fabric today is nothing short of alarming. Members of the ruling party are engaging in internal conflicts to safeguard their ill-gotten gains, obtained at the expense of the people.”
Rizvi further accused the Awami League of propagating feudalism across Bangladesh following the January 7 election. “Instances of brutality are becoming increasingly commonplace.
The recent incident in Kushtia, where a Chhatra League member gruesomely murdered a youth and subsequently confessed to the crime, is a testament to this alarming trend.
They are no longer confining their violence to targeting BNP supporters; they are now turning against each other,” Rizvi added.
Expressing grave concern, the BNP leader warned of dire consequences if the current social disorder is left unchecked.
Rizvi, accompanied by party leaders and activists, distributed leaflets in the Gulshan area, engaging with pedestrians, shopkeepers, transport workers, and rickshaw pullers, as part of their nationwide initiative.
Their primary demands include the annulment of the 12th parliamentary elections and the organization of fresh elections under a neutral administration
