US Embassy files case against 5 Bangladeshis

The US Embassy in Bangladesh has filed a case against five Bangladeshis with Gulshan police station for their involvement in human trafficking.

Michael Lee, an official of the US Embassy, filed the case on Monday. The accused in the case have been identified as Mofizur Rahman, Ashraful Alam Bhuiyan, Mohammad Zaman, Mohammad Bhasani and Mohammad Noor Alam.

In the complaint of the case, Michael Lee alleged that on February 11, two Bangladeshis named Mofizur Rahman and Ashraful Alam Bhuiyan went to interview for the US visa centre.

While giving an interview, they admitted their involvement in human trafficking from Bangladesh to different countries. They basically work as brokers. They also submitted fake documents to go to the United States.

According to the statement about Mofizur Rahman, he trafficked people from Bangladesh to Dubai.

Along with other brokers, he also sent people illegally into the United States. He sent his brother from Bangladesh first to Suriname via India to the South American country. From there, he went to the United States through the Mexico border.
